Dr. Tom Cullinane

Dr. Cullinane was born and raised in the Creve Coeur Area. He is a 1986 graduate of DeSmet High School. He graduated in 1992 from the University of Missouri St Louis and in 1996 from the UMSL school of Optometry.

He opened Optical Expressions in September of 1997. He currently lives in Chesterfield with his wife Julie.

 

Dr. George Dowdy

Dr. George Dowdy is dedicated to treating patients of all ages and vows to give his patients not only the most appropriate treatment but also educate them so they can better understand their eyes. He originally joined Optical Expressions during his undergraduate studies while working as an optometric technician. He then completed his doctoral training at the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry in 2020 and continues patient care as an optometrist at Optical Expressions.

On rotation, Dr. Dowdy has served patients at Saint Louis University Hospital, Affinia Healthcare in St. Louis, Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma, and Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome, Alaska. Dr. Dowdy currently serves on the board of the St. Louis Optometric Society and is an active member of the Missouri Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

A St. Louis native, Dr. Dowdy graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. He received his biology degree and swam freestyle and butterfly for Truman State University. Dr. Dowdy resides in Cottleville with his wife, daughter, and Siberian Husky.


Dr. Lacey Brinkman

Dr. Lacey Brinkman graduated from UMSL College of Optometry in May of 2024. She graduated with a degree in Biomedical Sciences from Marquette University in May of 2020. During her time in Optometry school she worked at Optical Expressions as an optometric technician. She is excited to be working at Optical Expressions as a doctor now, providing excellent care to patients of all ages. She and her husband, Noah, are originally from Quincy, IL. They moved to the St. Louis area when Dr. Brinkman began Optometry school. They now reside in Ballwin, MO.

Lacey and her husband welcomed their first baby this year. They have been enjoying all the new and exciting things St. Louis has given them over the last few years.


Dr. Julie Emming

Dr. Julie Emming graduated from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, College of Optometry in 2003, and joined Optical Expressions in 2010.

Originally a native of Wichita, Kansas, she enjoys St. Louis and resides in Florissant with her husband, daughter, and two dachshunds.

 

Dr. Jeffrey L. Weaver, OD, MBA, MS

Dr. Jeffrey L. Weaver joined Optical Expressions in 2012. His clinical emphasis is family practice optometry, but he has a special interest in protecting the eyes from injury and maximizing vision performance at work and play.

When not seeing patients, he is Vice President of Certifying Board Services for the American Osteopathic Association in Chicago, and Adjunct (Full) Professor at the University of Missouri–St. Louis College of Optometry, where he teaches clinical optometry and environmental vision.

He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1985, and holds an MBA from Drury College and an MS in Physiological Optics from The Ohio State University.

He retired as a Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserve after serving 30 years as a clinical optometrist, administrator, researcher and commander.

He is a Fellow of the European Academy of Optometry and Optics, and Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, as well as a Diplomate in Public Health and Environmental Vision of the AAO. He is Board Certified in Healthcare Management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
He has been married to his wife Robin for 30 years, and has a daughter Michele (25), son Daniel (15) and granddaughters Skylar (5) and Dallas (2).
